I am proud to have won many prestigious awards for my work, including Best Documentary Award at the Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam, Best Scenario Prize for my short documentary film "Small Fish" at the Festival of "Encounter Image Film Festival" organized by the French Cultural Center/Egypt, and many other awards from countries such as Iran, Iraq, India, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, and Egypt. Correspondent Neveen made this portrait of a young man who is studying to become an Imam in the islamic country of Egypt.
Our reporter Neveen from Cairo talked to Mohamed Rafaat Ibrahim. This Egyptian student sells flags of the successfull football club Al Ahly.
Correspondent Neveen follows a female taxi driver in Egypt. This female driver, Om Walid, explains she feels more like a man than a woman when she is working. Nevertheless her job she doesn't forget she's also a mother.
Mabrouk Abo Ellil is a garbage man from Cairo: he works for one of the many private garbage collectors that sort and recycle the garbage they collect themselves.
A beautiful mustache is a must for any fashion-concious man in Egypt. Correspondent Neveen from Cairo visited the Egyptian Association of Unique Mustaches', men who derive status and respect from their huge mustaches.
They have existed in Egypt for thousands of years now: the Zar-rituals. These were originally heathen rituals, but are still being practiced in the present islamic Egypt. Eventhough it is officially banned by the religious authorities, it is extremely popular in Egypt, especially with women.
